Structure of the school

International School Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest is an IB World School and offers  the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

 From age 11 to 16 it offers the five year IBMYP. On completing this programme, students are awarded the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Certificate.

 In the final two years at our school, we offer the IB Diploma Programme. Successful completion of the IBDP leads to an internationally recognised pre-university qualification, giving access to universities and colleges world-wide.

Mission

The RLO aims to offer students the best opportunities for development through
high-quality education, enabling them to grow into independent thinkers and to be
successful in their (educational) careers, and also as responsible global citizens who
contribute to a better and sustainable world. Our motto is: we are mindful of ourselves, for each other, for the world around us to build a better future together.

Vision

Our education focuses on broad student development with a focus on global citizenship. We take a holistic approach to guiding students. As a school community offering international and national education under one roof, we have opted for a shared vision of education.
Our common starting point is the IB learner profile, which describes ten characteristics that underpin the learning, teaching and collaboration at our school. We believe that these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.

Management

In the international school we have two department leaders who head the department teams. These teams consist of teachers and mentors. The department leaders are responsible for the implementation of the education and the supervision of the students. Together with the mentors, they are in close contact with the students and their parents.

Anne Lamers (IB-DP)

The management is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school. This consists of:
Erica van Langen (Rector) and Mathijs Hekkelman (Head international school).
