Laurie Salloum (MP2) wins design contest for Oegstgeest Pride bench
On Purple Friday, the Municipality of Oegstgeest announced the winning design for the new Pride (or rainbow) bench to be installed at the Lange Voort shopping center. Students from our school were invited to submit their creative ideas for the design competition.
The jury selected the design made by 12-year-old Laurie. The bench will serve as a visible symbol of inclusivity and diversity in Oegstgeest. During the announcement, Alderman, Melanie van Driel, emphasized the importance of young people learning from an early age that everyone is free to be themselves.
A wonderful achievement that we, as a school, are proud of! Congratulations to Laurie.
